Thanks to the water-wise partnership providing this campaign: the Santa Barbara County Water Agency; the cities of Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Lompoc and Solvang; the Goleta, Carpinteria Valley, Montecito and Santa Ynez River Water Districts; the Cuyama and Vandenberg Village Community Services Districts, and the Golden State and La Cumbre Mutual Water Companies.

Local Water Supply Update

Much of California is experiencing dry conditions and in some places, water shortages. In Santa Barbara County, water providers are keeping an eye on our supplies and will alert citizens if supplies get low. Contact your local provider (click here) to find out how your community is doing, and click here for the current water supply update.

High School Video Contest Winners Announced!

Congratulations to Cabrillo High School for winning first place and $1,000 for their video, "The WaterBoy " in the 2008 Water Awareness High School Video Contest! Get a customized Water Budget!

Now many water customers in the City of Santa Barbara, Goleta Water District, and Montecito Water District will be able access customized online water budgets, showing whether they have over or under watered their landscapes! Eligible customers include City of Santa Barbara and Goleta Water District businesses that have dedicated irrigation water meters. In Montecito, many homeowners will be eligible. Interested? Call your local water provider to see whether you qualify for this free service!

Get rebates for your home!

Remodeling? Just tired of that water guzzling clothes washer or toilet? Customers of Carpinteria Valley Water District, City of Santa Barbara, and Goleta Water District are eligible for residential rebates. Click here to find out more. Also, customers of The Gas Co. are offering rebates to homeowners on the purchase of water efficient applicances. Go to www.flexyourpower.org to find out more about rebates in your area.

Water Sense Labeling

The EPA has announced a new labeling system that will help consumers make smart decisions when buying water using fixtures and appliances. The new WaterSense label, much like the EnergyStar label which designates energy efficient fixtures, will be listed on products that are proven to be water efficient.
