The date of your reciept must match the CEE list current at the time of purchase. Archive lists are availble by clicking here. Residential
and in-apartment washers are not eligible, only common area laundry facilities in multi-family housing or apartment complexes, or in laundromats. A copy of a 5 year lease agreement must accompany applications for leased machines showing the address at which washers are located. Get additional rebate dollars for clothes washers through your energy provider: click here.
- For
Toilets: After January 1, 2008, toilet retrofits submitted for a rebate must be 1.3 gallons per flush or less, and
must be replacing a toilet with a higher flush volume than 1.6 gallons. Several
models that have been tested for efficiency as well as high performance can be found by clicking here. This is not a required list, but a recommended list. A subset of this list are models that have characteristics identified by the EPA's WaterSense Program, these can be found by clicking here.
- For Urinals: Select a urinal model of your choice that flushes at 1.0 gallons per flush or lower. Consider waterless urinal models which will save you the most water and money. A list of high efficiency urinals that have been tested for efficiency and performance can be found by clicking here. These are recommended, but not required.
2. Call to confirm application eligibility
Call 1-800-215-7559 to confirm eligibility. You can double check that the models you intend to purchase will in fact be eligible. You can also find out whether the program still has rebates available, since funding is limited.
3. Complete Application
Complete and return the program application with a copy of your purchase receipt(s) before June 30, 2009. Installations must be complete before a rebate check will be issued. Applicants may apply for up to $5,000 in rebates per property.
Your application will be processed to confirm compliance with program requirements. A program representative may conduct an on-site inspection to confirm installation.
Once the application is verified, the rebate check will be mailed to you within approximately 8 weeks. If the rebate amount is greater than $600, a program representative will contact you to obtain your Federal Tax ID number.
4. Check for Additional Rebates
Your water provider or energy provider may provide additional rebates for your retrofits, or for other technologies. Click here to find out more.
The Fine Print **
Participants cannot recieve more than $5,000 per property. Rebates for toilets and urinals are provided for commercial, industrial and institutional water customers only; rebates for clothes washers are provided for for commercial, industrial and institutional water customers as well as multi-family residential customers retrofitting washers in common laundray areas; no rebates are given to single-family residential dwellings. Fixtures must be purchased after the start date of the program (January 1, 2004) and installed in a business within Santa Barbara County. In addition, participants must be replacing higher water use devices with new, water-efficient ones. (Click here for instructions on how to determine if your current toilet is water-efficient.) Rebates are for retrofits only, not for new instllations adding water using devices to the facility. Installation of the devices is the participant's responsibility, and verification of installation may be conducted through a visual on-sight inspection.
Upon installation, your water provider may track water savings on your account as a requirement of the grant funding made availalbe to support this program. Water usage numbers will be tracked for a period of 3 years following installation. Usage data and account numbers are confidential and only usage numbers will be released to the state.
The City of Lompoc offers additional rebates for customers and has strict guidelines that differ from those listed for this program. If you wish to receive a rebate from the City of Lompoc, please call Mary Kammer at 875-8298 for instructions.
How
to get more information:
If you are interested in your bottom line and saving water for our
future, contact your local water purveyor or call the County Water Agency at 1-800-215-7559.
This program funded in part by the by the California DWR Prop 13 Water Use Efficiency Grant Program. Additional funding provided by the Santa Barbara County Water Agency.
** NOTE: This program is SUSPENDED, pending State funding
Santa Barbara County’s Save Water Save a Buck commercial rebate program is being suspended effective July 1, 2009. Continuation of the County-wide program will depend on whether a State grant continues to help subsidize the rebates. The program was originally scheduled to end in June 2008, but was extended through June 2009 when California’s Department of Water Resources extended its existing grant to the County. We are awaiting a DWR decision as to whether the grant program will be extended into the new fiscal year which starts on July 1, 2009.
Please check back to see whether the program is continued, terminated, or modified. Thanks for your interest in water efficiency in the business sector!
